—- Message from the President —-
I trust that all of our Club members have had a joyful and safe holiday season. This is the time of year many of you may reflect about events of 2016 and look forward and make plans for 2017. I hope that all of your thoughts are positive. The Menomonee Falls Optimist Club has and will continue to provide opportunities that “Bring Out the Best in Kids”.
I continue to feel honored to be your Club President for 2016-17. Our Club remains at about two hundred members. New people continue to join, while others believe their stint in the Club has come to an end. The reports that I receive from the nation organization indicate that a major reason given be non-renewing members is a “Lack of Interest”. My belief is that the reason not to renew may be more of a “Lack of Involvement”. Our Club has over thirty committees and activities that all members should be able to find an area of individual interest. I direct all to the listing of activities in the front of the Club’s Annual Members directory. When you see a listing that sparks your interest, simply contact the Chairperson of that event and find out how you can help that group.
The Optimist Club grows and improves base on member’s involvement. Let us all work together to make 2017 the best year in our Club’s long history.
Being involved with the Optimist Club can be refreshing and rewarding. I hope to see and talk with you at a future Club meeting or event.
All the Best to You,
Don Gorzek

Wednesday, January 4, 2017
Arrive 6:00; meeting and program at 6:30
CE & Rec Department Community Center – first floor meeting room (morning meeting room)
Have you ever wondered why other people just can’t see things “your way”? It all seems so very clear that it’s the correct way…yet others may see it differently! “Why doesn’t my boss understand my point? I wish I could figure out how to close this deal! Why do I need to be so careful how I say things to my co-workers? Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one who sees things the way they really are!” During the program Positively Different, you will gain insight into WHY it may seem that we are not all “playin’ out of the same play book”. You will view your communications with clients, co-workers, family and friends with a new and “Positively Different” outlook!
