SUMMARY:2025 Oratorical Contest
DESCRIPTION:Speak your way to success…unlock scholarships with your voice! \nSince its start in 1928\, the Optimist Oratorical Contest has become the longest-running program sponsored by Optimist International. The contest is designed for youth to gain experience in public speaking and provide them with the opportunity to compete for a college scholarship. \nThe 2025 Optimist Oratorical topic is: How Optimism Has Guided Me Through Trying Times \nHOW TO APPLY \nInterested students should prepare a 4- to 5-minute speech on the assigned topic to be presented at their local Optimist Club’s contest.\nThe speeches are judged at the Club level\, Zone level\, Regional level (if needed)\, and then at the District level.\nStudents need to submit an application (see link below) and speech in writing prior to the event. \nELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:  The contest is open to students under the age of 19 as of October 1\, 2024. \nCLUB COMPETITION ;  Tuesday\, March 11\, 2025 at 6:00pm.
