The approach can encompass a young person’s personal experience\, the experience of their country or a more historical perspective. In addition to developing skills for written expression\, participants also have the opportunity to win a college scholarship! \nThe 2025 Essay Contest Topic is: How Optimism Has Paved My Road to Success \nHOW TO APPLY\nInterested students should prepare a 700-800 word essay (Title\, footnotes and bibliography are not included in the final word count). Hyphenated words count as one (1) word. DESCRIPTION:The Optimist Club has sponsored and organized the program since 1986. This program would not be able to continue without the many volunteers and financial support of this club. To date the Optimist Club has awarded over $40\,000 in scholarships and cash awards through this program. \nJoin us for the 2025 competition on Saturday\, February 22nd at 7:00 pm at North Middle School.
